Many at times people often wonder what attitude and behaviors should characterize their relationship at the workplace. Some believe that they should have a bossy kind of attitude, some feel it should be a slave master type, to some others it is a mind your business attitude. In other to understand what attitude and behaviors should characterize our work place relationship, we must first understand what the work place is and the purpose of the work place.

The work place can be described as the area where we carry out our job. It is the place where we spend the most part of our live as adults. The work place is that place where we go to make a living, whether in the school as teacher, in the hospital as a nurse, on an airplane as an air hostess, in a banking hall as a banker, in a country as a President etc. it could even be at home or maybe over the internet. Now having this background description of the work place is what attitude and behaviors should then characterize my workplace relationship. I believe the work place should be handled with care and utmost importance- after all there is this common saying that you should care for the geese that lays the golden egg.   Our attitude will go a long way to determine what happens at the work place.
Here are a list of the type of attitude and behaviors that should characterize your workplace relationship.

BE CORDIAL

Whether as a low or high level staff, you must exude a sincere, warm, affectionate, invigorating attitude in the work place. It should be noted that everyday comes with its own challenge, therefore we must have a cordial behavior giving strength or spirit to your colleague at the work place. It must be noted that cheerful people tend to achieve much and inspire others to do same.


BE OPEN MINDED

 Feel free to express yourself, make important suggestion when necessary. At times situations do arise that require your experience or idea always feel free to make your input these goes a long way to show your relevance in your work place.


BE FRIENDLY

This is one of the most important attitude in the work place. A good smile which apparently will not cost much has the ability to remove tension at the work place. A friendly boss will tend to have the cooperation of more of the junior staff than a non-friendly boss.


PARTICIPATE

Everyone in the work place usually has his or her quota to contribute. Be involved actively in the daily running of activities in the work place. This shows your relevance at your work place. Never feel that your input is not needed because the company is not yours that your only input will just be to follow orders. If you do not show your relevance by getting involved you can easily be sidelined or replaced at your work place

KEEP A SMILING FACE ALWAYS

This is one gift that God has given us for free. It not only works on others but it does a lot of work on you. It attracts people your way, draws help in your direction, and help to reduce tension in the work place.

 

BE POSITIVE MINDED

No other attitude gets more things done than a positive mind. It approaches every challenge at the work place with possibility in view. Remember everything is possible.

 MAINTAIN A TEAM SPIRIT

 No man is an island. Together far more is achieved. Greater accomplishment is happen when everyone in the work place work as one team. Always maintain the team spirit.


BE EFFECTIVE

 Always work at achieving results even on small jobs. Make sure you finish the task assigned to you. Be a high performer. Make your presence count, never procrastinate.


BE EFFICIENT

 Do not be slothful in business, achieve your intended task within the specified time
frame. Do not be wasteful.
